Meet the Team

Launched in 2005 by the Lean Enterprise Research Centre (LERC), the LCS helps organisations and individuals develop adopt lean thinking more effectively. Simon Elias

Sarah Wooledge, Head of Operations

Sarah is a seasoned lean professional with over 25 years of experience in operational improvement across diverse industries, from manufacturing to healthcare. Her talent for bringing theory to life and igniting enthusiasm within teams made her a sought-after expert.

She has designed and delivered tailored blended learning and coaching programs to drive lasting change for many organisations and has signiificant experience in LCS accreditation, having secured and extended it for several organisations; also, she holds LCS Level 3b qualification. Overall, her career is a testament to her ability to inspire teams and transform organisations through practical experience and deep industry knowledge.

John Homewood, Manager Membership Development

Dr John Homewood spent over 18 years in the electrical steel industry, from research through operations, technical and improvement management, in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.

John’s vocation in business improvement began in 1999 and later, as Manager Lean and Continuous Improvement, he began working with the Lean Enterprise Research Centre (LERC), contributing to ‘Staying Lean: Thriving, not Just Surviving’ [2008] and other research areas.

Through LERC, John began supporting the Lean Competency System in 2011. Since then he has worked closely with the LCS Level 3 system and its candidates, as well as contributions towards network events, conferences and other developments on an associate basis. During this period, he has also been a Research Fellow at Cardiff University School of Engineering. Following his appointment,

John manages the delivery and development of LCS Level 2 & Level 3 Approved Prior Learning & Experience (APLE) products and LCS Practitioner Membership services while also supporting LCS assessments, organisational LCS accreditation and development of research themes and projects with LERC.

Emily Lloyd-Murray, Administrative Assistant

Emily brings a diverse Customer Success background cultivated across multiple industries within international businesses, spanning FinTech, Motor Finance, Hospitality, and Tax sectors. She has a wealth of experience in onboarding clients and is set to extend her expertise, providing administrative support and fostering robust customer relationships as a part of the LCS team.
